| ✦ i love this song a lot. it's been helping me a lot through my most recent break up and learn about life more. I spent two years and a half living a dream with him. my ex partner gave up a future with us in favor of chasing a dream with another person. they lost their love for me, and that's okay. our relationship went through a lot of obstacles. we are just not meant to be together, neither as a couple or as friends. letting go of him was difficult, but being with him feels like it was just a dream, I'm grateful for it regardless. i thank him for helping me grow and learn more about myself. "they will come and they will go". is very resonant with me. One day I'll find my true love. |

| ✦ this song is truly an eye opener. i felt chained to my ex-partner who on their own promised their love to me, even if it wasn't romantically anymore. he was like a guardian angel. he promised me, i could rely on him and would continue to support me. in reality, he did not want to do any of those things. he just wanted to tell me the things i wanted to hear, not do these things out of love. he put a chain on me that was meant to hurt me instead as his form of punishment. it was an abusive chain that took advantage of me. i fortunately managed to break that chain. i felt like i owed him everything for the things he did for me, including my life. but my heart could not take the pain he inflicted onto me each day that went on, ever since we stopped being lovers. the hardest decision of my life was this chain, cutting this chain off of me and getting him out of my life. but just like the song states. if he doesn't love me now, he will never love me again. i lived and learned and i'm living a life without him being a part of it. breaking this chain has helped me know my true worth and value as a person. |
